Maarten Combrink (2000), winner of the ITA Carl Fontana Competition 2021, is a Dutch jazz trombonist and composer.

Maarten is a versatile player with a warm sound, thoroughly studying the tradition and adding his own personality and creativity to that.

From a young age he has played trombone in bands such as the Peter Beets & Henk Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra, the Dutch Jazz Collective, Son Bent Braam and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, with which he played at the Bimhuis, Het Concertgebouw, Tivoli Vredenburg, at the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Grachtenfestival.

Maarten studies jazz trombone at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Ilja Reijngoud, Bert Boeren and Simon Rigter.
